this link gets posted like every day... and yet each time I use it I think its a great site but I think it would be more useful to post with the address to check (for lazy people like me). ie. http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/techcrunch.

More commonly processors such as XScales are used for many of these applications. These are very common in applications like smart phones, Ethernet switches and the likes and are ARM based. Since of these can operate into the GHz range, I w

Depending on the industry many companies can give a lot of info away if you just call them and discuss private labeling or buying technology from them.

Maybe they are not subsidizing the cost of the hardware with the service price?

The biggest problem that I have noticed most recently has been all the complaining about quality reduction. If there is any reason to leave it seems like posts like this always on the front page. I think the karma system will work things o

This sounds just like a zed shaw rant, in fact I think he says the exact same thing in some article. For the most part this is usually true (although abrupt), it is often hard to break it to people that their 'awesome idea' really isn't wor

Does that really seem to be the best solution to your problem? Will that even solve your problem?

The problem is that software is very cheap to develop, really only costing labor. Any sort of hardware will cost more and the wild variations would compound that cost, ie analog circuitry vs autonomous helicopters requirements. It would be

I never understand these types of questions, is that really important to job function? Maybe ask them to do it in octal too? Or just use a random number as the base, how about base 47? Will that weed out the slackers?

Interesting discussion, but I think the average is more usefully thought of as the best unbiased predictor. In other words, given no other information about the process the mean is the best prediction one can make.

I would stick it out in school for now, probably not what you want to hear. Its easy to say that you will get everything done if only you had the time, but many times its just an excuse (as you stated). Do you have the summer off? If so why

The same way I am, I mail so rarely that I usually dont have any stamps, and when I do they are usually the wrong amount (seems to change often). So I need to spend the time to find the correct price, maybe go buy more stamps then mail it.

All kinds, the only time I avoid music and keep silence is when I have to do reading/writing stuff. Probably the same reason I find reading and writing to be more of a chore and coding/designing more enjoyable.

My formal education and majority of background is hardware (EE undergrad and grad). I also work full time doing hardware design and firmware mostly. The problem with a lot of hardware is the initial investment and that things take longer. I

I see no point to the upload method, at least for myself. I would not want to upload gigs of music, I would rather just stream it like this service. I used to do this with FTP but this looks like a more elegant solution to running an FTP

I find it depends on whats on my mind. Many times I will wake up earlier then I wanted and cannot get back to sleep because I start thinking of things I need/want to get done. Currently I probably get around 6 - 7, 8 would be a good sleep

Maybe an hour a week tops, have never been into it as I find tv far too boring. My biggest time sink is exercising though, which I probably do just as much as most people watch tv lol

Larger is nicer, but I think more is better. Having 2, 19" monitors would be much better to me over one 22 inch. Currently I use a 22" wide and a 15.4" (laptop) as a second monitor.

It really depends on what you want to do, electronic design is not (IMHO) much different then the ideas in software design. My background is EE, my day job is circuit design including firmware and in my spare time I do web projects, RoR mos
