I would stick it out in school for now, probably not what you want to hear. Its easy to say that you will get everything done if only you had the time, but many times its just an excuse (as you stated). Do you have the summer off? If so why not use that time to go hardcore on your idea, then make the decision in the fall (but plan on going back anyway). Besides semesters are only a few months at a time.
