Well, it clearly affects search ads, but in terms of revenue streams Google is already somewhat diversified: 1. Search ads (at risk of disintermediation) 2. Display ads (not going anywhere) 3. Ad-supported YouTube 4. Ad-supported YouTube TV

I don't fault them for this at all. AI isn't possible without the full infra stack, which clearly includes storage (and compute, and networking, and data pipelining, and and and...). There's an entire ecosystem of ISVs that

That's narrow! There's a not quite as narrow one in SF, in the Union Square Macy's. It's wider, but still not wide enough for two abreast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t37Q7mVEtgo

No, you can only access google3 by default if you are a T ladder FTE. This rules out almost everyone who isn't a SWE, SRE, PM or other affiliated technical role. There are exceptions, but ... they're exceptions.

I replied to the other poster about this, but I absolutely do not think kids inherently understand the risks inherent in social media. As one stupid example, earlier this school year we had to talk with the parents of another XC team membe

Apologies for the delayed reply. It's our choice, not theirs. My daughter (14) doesn't really care either way, but my son was mildly perturbed when we took Snapchat away. Not because he regularly post snaps, but because it'

It would dramatically raise the cost of school buses. School buses, as they are, are not acceptably accessible for the general public. They have only 1 door on the side and the passenger seating requiring climbing a couple of steep steps.

I didn't downvote because I think diverse perspective is important, but the OP's comment is condescending and elitist: it declares that US doctors and the system they operate within is superior to the doctors and medical systems

TMBG was the first band I ever saw live. For some reason, they made a tour stop at the local women's college in my town and a few friends & I went. This was in 1993, in an auditorium that sat about 500. Super fun live and lots o

The winning strategy is that Google has so many surfaces that they can embed their own AI in (also use as training data sources) that they essentially can't lose unless their models are just terrible. Fortunately, their models are gre
