It seems to me that the rollout process is flawed. A change should be rolled out to a small fraction of nodes and then monitored for an extended period. 5% of requests returning errors would easily be spotable. Only when a new release has r

Regarding the 100TB of Access Denied pages: just drop the connection instead. To make the system more scalable: instead of directly serving the file, serve a bunch of URLs to mirrors plus a checksum. The client must pick one of them. You ca

Shouldn't a post about a new release mention the version number? (It's 106) I really like Firefox from a usability and features point of view. Multi-account containers are fantastic! I want it to succeed. But a private browsing sh

I find it interesting that a service not having lock-in is actually a reason for people to adopt and stay with it. In an industry where lock-ins are common, these lock-ins also effectively become lock-outs. It is said the biggest motivator

Thanks for the clarification. We also experimented with audio worklets + rrnoise about 1.5 years or so ago but had very mixed results. The potential upside with processing in another thread is clear but some browser and OS combinations just

Bummer, reading the title I thought Jitsi had a new de-noiser because they had RRNoise for some time. Unfortunately RRNoise has not received much advancement for a couple years. It's by now half a decade old tech. I've worked with

Yup and at least my friends and family are extra cautious when it is a service where you "buy" something which can be taken away from you at any moment. Google is building a too strong reputation of an unreliable company. Doesn&#x

Yea you could restrict the app by whitelisting only the network services and folders that it will use and that's pretty valuable though at least on Linux could already easily be achieved otherwise. It's good that Deno makes it eas

The problem is that you grant the privileges on the application level and not library level. You grant network access to your app and then some updated dependency suddenly starts communicating home and it wont prevent that. It is also possi

That can be ruled out. Bit rot does not appear suddenly in a widespread manner and does not cause very similar visual effects in a variety of images. Also the original images are still available, just new modified versions were shown. To me

Congrats on the 1.0 release! Wasmtime has a world class team of developers and I truly believe that WASM will play an important part in many industries. I'm pretty excited for what's to come. We've barely scratched the surfac

The Portal 2 image comparison seems pretty dishonest to me. You can clearly see the graphics details have been reduced in the RTX off version. Check how the outline of the portal or the gun look like for example, completely different textur

Good question :) When it comes to reliable streams and WebTransport vs WebSockets I really don't see much improvement. Where I do see a simplification is when it comes to WebTransport vs WebRTC data channels. It's just a simpler A

There seems to be not too much interest in or hype about WebTransport. FF and Safari don't support it yet. MDN does not contain a single mention of WebTransport. I think it's missing a killer app. But I am not sure what WebTranspo

FHD has about 4x the amount of pixels than 1K. They'd be still off by a factor of two (32/4 = 8 vs 4).

Isn't the K relating to the horizontal axis? 1K being close to FHD doesn't seem to make sense. 1K (1024x540) ~= qHD (960x540) 2K (2048x1080) ~= FHD (1920x1080) 4K (4096x2160) ~= UHD (3840x2160) 8K (8192x4320) ~= QUHD (76

Hm interesting that the quoted text argues in terms of bandwidth. A 4K resolution has 16x as many pixels as a 1K resolution. So if you can run two 4K monitors then shouldn't the bandwidth allow you to run 32 1k monitors at equal Hz? Sa
