Like it or not, irregardless is here to stay. Languages change, mispellings become the correct way to spell things, words become their own antonyms, and a lot of other very strange things. Embrace it!

Furthermore, two instances of life with the same abiogenesis point, isolated and diverged sometime in the past, would be very valuable for biologists. Isn't this something you can basically get on Earth? Perspermia doesn't reall

Umm, that's standard anti-fraud for e-commerce sites. I'm pretty confused actually at your surprise, I've never paid for anything by credit card without requiring at least a zip code, and usually a full address.

Yeah, I hit this same road-block when trying to port vim to JS and gave up because it didn't seem worth it after that. If only vim ran a regular event loop, it would have been such an easy port, compared to what they had to do here. Wh

Me too, but I had always figured it as survivorship bias. That is, there are many such things that I newly hear of, but most of them don't get repeated mentions right way. The few of them that do catch my attention, and it seems like i

why is It that almost no site uses appcache, when it is a way of ensuring that resources are already local and the only network traffic is the truly essential part? HTTP caching is fine for that. appcache is more about allowing the site t

None of the things you've listed are actually really problems, or have well-known solutions. HTTP caching solves the downloading problem for most classes of application. You can also run apps locally with app-cache and local storage (a

Googling for "antbot" returns a variety of seemingly unrelated projects. Could you possibly be more specific? But more curious to know the mechanism behind it that causes mosquitos to stop flying. Though I have to say, robotics do

Post an explanation + clear diagrams of how it works somewhere, and your process for making the prototype with pictures of it. And details about the cost/parts etc. Then drum up some interest. Get some blogs to write about it, then hop

But what if single core performance increases stop completely? In that case, parallelism wins out in the end as you keep adding more and more cores, given a problem amenable to parallelism.

I find myself doing poor pattern recognition at times (eg always choosing the wrong key for a particular door), and realizing just after that a machine learning library could well make the mistake I just did. This isn't a new insight,

Definitely not unexplored territory, analog computation came first. Notably, the way you program an (electronic) analog computer is by adjusting it's circuitry.. not exactly the friendliest programming model. The problem with noise see
