People signal with high prices as well, luxury clothing for example is not rare, or scare, or even all that good. For some the excess spend is the signal, and there has been an aspect of cost signalling in organic grown goods for a long tim

Agreed except that not everywhere can landfill, so tightening up global trash agreements still makes sense.

I wholeheartedly agree. I also don't see any problem with banning the straws in the first place, and I hope it is just the beginning of plastic items we ban.

Yes thousands of examples in every grocery store. It is still crazy to me, since the answer for so many of them is just a cardboard box or paper wrapper. We have the technology. Paper has it's downsides too, but they are surmountable.

Straws were also banned because of their immediate impact on ocean life, the same reason we got rid of plastic ring 6 pack can holders. Animals get them lodged in their bodies.

The wealth is so unimaginably high that for practical purposes like that, building things etc, I suspect they long surpassed the needed capital. You could take 99% of Elons wealth from him and he could still build disaster bunkers or commis

Some of the hype is just VCs being excited about having somewhere to put their bets, and founders happy to gobble the money. But it does feel a bit more tangible this time, for one, people are using it daily at work for a huge swath of role

That is the funniest thing I have read today, thank you. I understand the need for an encrypted connection, but it is worrying to see cars getting built more or less like phone or web apps, and encountering the same obtuse issues.

I have had a hard time articulating this too. I really like trains, I travel to go ride them, but I don't sit on the internet researching trains in my spare time and I don't know thr minutae of the different train models. I just k

You have a much better idea of what demand is tangible and grounded, which means you are in a great position to start a bootstrapped small business. Some people have been calling them boring businesses which is actually pretty exciting to m

I would be surprised if it was not controlled airspace, if not restricted airspace they would have had protocols to follow even just being near the base.

That's fair enough. I guess I am just surprised that there would be only two clubs. Most clubs here don't specialize in one genre except the "core edm" clubs but that might be an artifact of our distance from everything.

If I am being charitable it is probably partly to do with how much music is coming out, it is basically impossible to listen to all new DnB releases so it helps that they get categorized so you can find what you want. If I am being uncharit

I didn't say techno was EDM, I said our EDM clubs spin techno. Genre elitism is why I stopped spinning, it is such a boring thing to bike shed over and contributes zero to the music.
