In this case, I prefer FP-style destructured pattern matching (e.g. https://doc.rust-lang.org/book/patterns.html#destructuring ) to OOP-style method overloading (FTA). In the FP style, the compiler can make sure you han

Yes, but isn’t that the problem with Android security updates? OEMs need to (and fail to) deliver closed-source binary blobs to end users. If open source is the real goal, then we* need to be demanding much more openness from OEMs. * Not me

I appreciate you linking to the project home page, but it’s not a GNU project. Besides its home page being hosted on nongnu.org, its savannah page ( http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/nmh/ ) says > This project

I feel your pain. This is something that I learned on-the-fly as well. I encourage you to read up on the MIME specs to flesh out your understanding of “common things that show up inside emails”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki

And if they say they have one and show it to you, how do you prove that they don’t also have another “real” one that they use for all of their terroristing?

That's possible. But to me it's not totally obvious. He said the US embassy in Oslo checked/authorized his travel credentials. So either he's lying or the US embassy fucked up. Either way, it sounds like situations like

It sounds like you're saying that you think he's capitulating the conceit that arabs are terrorists? I don't really read his words that way, but I guess I can see it. And if so, then yes: definitely distasteful.

I’m not an expert here, but in the article it says he had a diplomatic passport. If that was so, and he’s an accredited diplomat, then the Vienna Convention (ratified in the USA and Norway both) applies here. It says that diplomats are not

TBH, I agree with him about all of the things he points out as “wrong” with the typical streaming model. But I don’t think it’s productive to take an “anti-Netflix” position as a response. I think all of our time would be much better spent

I’ve wished that there was some kind of HTTP header I could have my UA send that told the server not to bother sending me the comments section, as I consider them to generally be a waste of resources. I even thought a little about how I’d g

On macOS, you can three-finger-tap (not click, tap) to invoke the right-click “Look Up” menu item. That’s my preferred technique, though it’s obviously OS-dependant.
