esp32 already exists, so there's a hardware alternative. What's the primary issue -- is it the lack of competition to the Arduino IDE? I have dabbled in Arduino but don't know enough to understand, but my impression was on th

I think this is a reasonable expectation. I'm writing about the dot product and there is a geometric visualization for dot products, so it's fair to expect that. As I said in this comment ( https://news.ycombinator.com&#

Hey everyone, I'm the author. I'm seeing a lot of the same comments here, so I want to address them. I teach math by leading with examples. I try to show the intuition behind an idea, and why it is interesting. For this series, my

Yes, but if you decide to leave your job during the shutdown (say to find more stable work), you do not get paid for the unpaid hours you worked. And as others are saying, plenty of people can't afford to work for no pay indefinitely.

Everyone is different! I personally find examples and visuals a very important part of teaching. > But in recent years Just to expand on this a bit: I have been teaching this way since at least 2016, when I published a book on algorithms

Lol. Maybe! I did enjoy writing Grokking Algorithms, but writing a full book is a real commitment. That one took me 3 years.

Good idea! I'll probably do one on calc shortly, since I want to build up to ML.

Noted! I may make a totally separate post on gaussian elimination. Could you talk me through what parts were confusing, and would you be willing to review a post on gaussian elimination to see if it works for you?

3B1B's videos are incredible. His LA videos go a bit too quick for me though, which is why I started writing this series.

I'll definitely publish more chapters on substack! I'd love to do a full book on LA, but it depends on if I'll have time. As an aside, Avro.im looks awesome!

Do you block images? Works for me on iOS Safari in dark mode. Every image also includes alt text (though I think the images add a lot).

Author here – I think you're probably right. I wrote the Gaussian elimination section more as a recap, because I figured most readers have seen Gaussian elimination before, and I was keen to get to the rest of it. I'd love to hear

Build your own! It's a great way to learn, keeps you interested in the latest developments. Plus you get to try out cool UX experiments and see what works. I built my own interface back in 2023 and have been slowly adding to it since.
