I use $20 cursor plan and use the agent UI for prompts, jetbrains ide for general file browsing + reviewing diffs. This has been my sweet spot to maintain understanding while still leveraging LLM benefits.

I think it's a useful tool, but peak workflow is basically the rough existing development paradigm, if that can be defined, but let AI do the grunt work (typing, some researching) and help you understand things in your own brain, from

Curious to see what transpires with federal fund rate alteration in the acute future. Both Warsh and Bessent are pupils of Druckenmiller, but Warsh seems aligned with Druckenmiller regarding letting the market naturally settle on appropriat

This is perhaps even truer for writing code.

I’ve found that planning tickets with granular details (like semi specific code changes needed) is one of the best ways to get that deep knowledge of the system. Even if ultimately I delegate most of the implementation to an LLM. I also hea

Yeah I’ve gone through varying degrees of cold turkey too. These social media / infinite scroll platforms are not all ‘bad’, but some are ‘worse’ than others. Unfortunately heavy platform usage is so widespread + people staying at hom

Seems like they’re trying to put open ai, anthropic, grok out of business by releasing their open source models, as google actually has massive profitable arms of their business outside ai, and be there to scoop up any remaining demand for

Personally my ability to understand atrophies / is reduced when compared to writing code ‘myself’ rather than fully being a reviewer. Probably similar to hand writing notes (while digesting + synthesizing and not just being a scribe) v

I’ve said from the beginning that these tools may be helpful but on average will not replace humans and be as revolutionary as how they’re being touted. However, given government budget deficits and the need to outgrow inflation / the

This is my experience. Quantity of output is not the issue right now. Quality is. But I’m not sure if this will ever be solved for, given LLMs are non-deterministic sophisticated autocomplete at their core. Sure, ‘human in the loop’ and all

Think ‘all is well’ now while ‘struggling’ generations are still alive and working. When they go away I’m more concerned. We may have to intentionally suppress tool access in education eg like certain levels of calculators being permitted f

I do the exercise of imagining the colors one would be exposed to as a hunter gatherer (context in which humans developed, 90% of human history), and there would seldom be anything vibrant (sunsets, sky, plants/flowers) when compared t
