Not many now, but if websites start feeling the squeeze from ad revenue, it will become more common (see Hulu making commercials 2-3x as long if Adblock is enabled). It's also an unfair comparison because Adblock is opt-in -- you have

This can only play out a few ways, right? A) Firefox holds its ground, Advertisers hold their ground as well. Advertisers refuse to work with websites that support the version of Firefox with "Do Not Track", unless the websites ad

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this happened. This also won't be the last time either. When you build apps on a platform, be ready to run into brick walls if you start to enter (or have already entered) areas that the pl

I'm finding it hard to think up ways that this differentiates itself enough from Foundation or Bootstrap to be useful -- and your website isn't providing me any reason why as well. Compare to http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/ and http:

Does this chain all the way down? Aka if my prerendered page also contains a link that prerenders a page, does that page get loaded too? If so, if I prerender a page that prerenders the first page, does this crash the browser?

I've been using GMail since its inception, so I figured I'd try the authors first suggestion, FastMail to see how the competition was fairing. The article mentions that FastMail operates both "free and paid tiers of service", so I figured I

Some thoughts: 1) When I click the "list" button at the top next to the essay name, it shows me the same list that is on the left side of the screen. Why? Is there something I can do there that I can't do somewhere else? 2) Why make your au

I think the biggest thing for me is that my smartphone has always been a "private" thing for me, a place where I can choose to interact with people, or spend hours playing Angry Birds. With this phone, I'm forced into an environment where I

If you believe this so heavily that you are already quoting your previous comment, why not short Bitcoins at https://icbit.se/ ? Surely you'd make a killing on it if what you believe is true. It's easy to make grandstanding statements from

I guess when your content width is 400px, 200 words is all you need to make it a wall of text and push it past the fold.

It seems incredibly odd that a company would announce a public firing of their employees -- yet alone put it on their public Facebook group page, a page that should be focused on selling their product.

I'm not familiar with the virtual assistant space, but my question is: Let's say I have the Lite plan, 5 hours/week. I then ask to get something done, like one of your examples: "Please create a professional powerpoint presentation from the

I agree it has some great upsides. I love the idea of localization, and version control is nice to easily revert changes, etc. Having a scalable comic that can change text on the fly is something that I've been hoping for for a long time. B

The whole issue is that Rails has tried to package what's 'probably a good idea' into the framework by default for quite a while. Unless every guide ever tells you to subscribe to the rails-security group, only those 'in the know' will know

That assumes you know about the vulnerability, though. If you aren't subscribed to an email group, you might not find out for some period of time. The majority of Rails programmers, or beginners even, aren't a part of these email groups, so
