Then I guess I, and Heinlein, read it pretty shallowly, since he's has been quoted as saying his novel glorifies the military. I still really enjoyed the book, but I don't know how you could possibly read it as not a pro military

You don't have to something super bad to be labelled a felon. Simple drug possession, not selling but being caught with certain drugs or a certain amount, will result in felony charges. In fact, a majority of felons in Federal prison
