These "concerns" show lack of understanding of current nuclear industry capabilities and realistic undestanding of real and potential disasters. > Lack of a proper handling of nuclear waste "Nuclear waste" handling

It's not about money, but about replacing the coal and gas power plants. Renewable sources can't do that alone, they need massive energy storage facilities (which so far do not exist).

50% of german electric energy production is from high availability sources (nuclear+fossil fuels) and Germany's network is connected to the continental network, so of course the network is stable. It will be hard to get these sources d

Yes but their safety could be improved, new containment system can be built etc. Governments should step up and change the incentives to keep the good plants in operation. Being unprofitable is not a good reason to decommission a nuclear pl

The trio WHO-China-Daszak is the last source we should trust on this. Former CDC chief says "most likely" cause of coronavirus is that it "escaped" from a lab: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-lab-

Unfortunately CCP would probably destroy evidence and censor information either way. They are so damn consistent I don't think this behaviour shows what really happened.

Mr. Daszak has obvious conflict of interest (EcoHealth Alliance financed coronaviruses enhancement in past) and has already been recognized in pushing convenient disinformation narratives for him and his work by his scientist peers. [1] ht

You are right, they are probably controlled by China. Maybe they still have credibility on things like best practices in dealing with COVID. At least in places where local governments push unscientific overly restrictive policies.

It is not realistic to power current developed societies using only solar and wind power. For simple reason - we can't store energy well. Stop throwing up and shooting down strawmen. Nuclear energy was never going to replace all energy

Sending waste to space is a very dumb idea. First, rockets explode quite often. Second, sending things to space is very expensive, much more than storing them in storage facility. Third, nuclear waste will be very valuable in the future, so

What else do you propose as replacement for coal and gas power plants? Who expects nuclear energy to fix our CO2 problems? In the following decades, it is supposed to slow down CO2 buildup, not "fix our CO2 problems".

Russia has a lot of uninhabited space, so the contamination does not seem to be a big problem for them. Lots of countries behave this way, UK and US included.

You are seriously overestimating the needed throughput in practice. 60fps 1080p can be streamed with good quality over 16Mbps channel (2MB/s). The real problem is lack of good open source software that will eliminate the annoying laten

I think there is a correlation between the most powerful (politically) and the most capable (being able to make the right decisions for the country) but I agree that is not a universally accepted argument. You seem to be familiar with China

I think UREs due to problems with medium (magnetic layer) can be eliminated to arbitrarily small rate with more and better ECC. However I think (probably small) part of the total URE rate are randomly occurring errors due to intermittent me
