It might be hard to imagine now, but it was only 15 years ago that we were able to function in a world without Facebook.

I hate to sound so negative but this feels so incredibly cringy. Smug, condescending and pedantic.

I feel that Google's going downhill ever since they started to try reading my mind.

It doesn't. Technically, zero-day in the context of exploits means the exploit was circulating and/or being used before the authors of the attacked piece of software were made aware of the vulnerability (or before the vulnerabilit

Blockout was the first game we had on our 286. So many memories. Thanks.

It was L0pht that was acquired by @stake, not cDc. But there was a lot of overlap.

Why give any weight at all to sports achievement in a university? What's one thing got to do with the other?

But we can just not sandbox the programs that break inside a sandbox. We don't lose anything we currently have. Meanwhile, more and more programs will start supporting running in a sandbox.

A complete prohibition only reduced those by resp 30% and 10-20%? And you call that "not a failure" when speaking about such a hyperinvasive measure?

I did not mean to say that "real" fans must buy physical media. Just that there are plenty of them out there who do.

I've rewritten this comment ten times already and I guess I don't really know what I _want_ to say, but this really irks me the wrong way. What you are describing is not Music (with a capital M) but rather the very similar product

Using a piece of software is not the same as using an online service. If all those websites are using Flask, that would be the equivalent of centralising on Flask. The opposite of that would be many Flask-compatible yet unrelated other fram

It's impossible for a single point of failure not to be centralised. Otherwise it wouldn't be a _single_ point of failure.

Interesting. I turned off my adblocker out of curiosity but I'm not seeing anything special. Coming from the EU though, maybe that has something to do with it.

Then why would you not block all cookies except for those from Kagi? That is trivial to set up.

It's a subsystem of Windows, so a Windows subsystem. It's for running Linux. Hence, Windows Subsystem for Linux.

I downvoted because I feel it's abusing Sakamoto's passing for the personal agenda of the poster. This is far from neutral information, especially the way it is presented.
