So all luck and nothing else? Do these people just sit in the grass all day waiting for luck to deliver the money into their laps?

That said, getting rich by working hard if you don't have talent or intelligence will be a lot harder. So I guess you need a bit of all of them.

Talent and intelligence don't help you much if you don't use them to work hard.

Tagging files on Windows is a horrible experience though, sadly.

As someone who was regularly frustrated with the problems you describe, it seems that recently (I think with the 1903 upgrade, but not sure) things have gotten a lot better and I finally feel the start menu is listening to me again.

It's downvoted mostly because bringing up iOS and Android in a discussion about Wacom tablets seems pretty off-topic and whataboutist.

On the other hand, I used Thunderbird for almost a decade, then switched to Gmail and never looked back. Mileages vary.

VS Code has Intellisense, an integrated debugger, and much more. What makes it not an IDE?

Weird to compare an IDE and a text editor, though.

Of course you can use other IDEs (VS Code, Rider, Monodevelop) and databases (Postgres, Sqlite, Mysql, Oracle). And plenty of people don't use R# either, but I prefer to do so.

Good luck getting that Swing app to look nice, though. Which is a breeze with HTML/CSS.

But the big advantage of using Electron is that you know exactly what browser and Node version you are targetting. That takes away a lot of the cross-browser HTML/CSS pain.

I would say that the people who today only consume, and stay on single sites (eg not clicking the links on reddit) would simply not have cared about the internet if it had been the way you suggest. Whether that would be a good or a bad thin

Out of curiosity, what period are you referring to as the "good old days"? Must be prior to, say, 1993-1994? I also remember these days as the days where we had to be very, very nice to other people and play by their rules (univer
