If you're on OS X you can ease into it by using the 'Dvorak except for shortcuts' keyboard mode.

While incredibly stupid, is this enough information to do actual harm? Don't you also need the CVS code?

Nope, Dutch credit card. I think there's a small chance they'll call you out based on a non-US card, but it worked for me.

I used MyUS.com to forward one, got it on April 7. It's not allowed by Apple, but I like to see them try taking it away from me now ;) (Hint, don't use 'Suite' in your shipping address, that's apparently a red flag, just the number will do

It's a delicate balance, actually. If you price your apps too cheap, people with no real interest will buy them, run it once, uninstall it and give it one star.

The (yearly) $100 fee might not be negligible compared to the price of the device (it's still 50% of the price of the cheapest iPod Touch), but if your child already has (access to) a Mac and iPod Touch or iPhone, I don't think it will be t

Well, so how much does the licensing actually cost? On their website MPEG LA mentions there are certain thresholds to "minimize the impact on lower volume users" ( http://www.mpegla.com/main/programs/AVC/Pages/Intro.aspx ). If you're runni

Ah, that comparison had the opposite of the intended effect on me. The Theora encoded video looks much worse in every instance. Not sure if I would notice the harsh contrast and encoding artifacts when viewing a YouTube video without compar

I found this part interesting: I also don’t have their permission to disclose the amount of the sale, but suffice to say that it was proportional to the amount of time and effort I’ve put into it (that is, not much). He clearly didn't bui

It's indeed mostly a burden on the iPhone devs side to support good 'suspension' behavior, and there are some frameworks (like Three20) which more or less offer it 'out of the box'. I used an Android phone for a while before switching to th

Amazing how small the set of accepted changes is given the amount of extensions GHC has. But, I'm happy that a decision has been reached and Haskell as a language is 'officially' moving forward again.

No, just the symbol table in the binaries. You can easily do it yourself with the 'nm' command. It seems that they are using a tool that matches the 'nm' output with a list of private APIs since about a month or so, meaning that a lot of up

Good point. I also hope that Apple will include some kind of indicator in its listings so one can tell whether an app uses in-app purchasing.

For tiny teams (2 people) FogBugz on Demand is free. It kicks ass, I was pleasantly surprised yesterday to find the new version. We're currently using both FogBugz and Redmine (two separate projects). FogBugz makes a lot more sense to me

Just for fun, I tried it with the examples from the comparison on the website, but even with a lot of tweaking I didn't manage to get an image as sharp as they claim to get. I don't think Vector Magic uses potrace ;)
