Nah, the US govt is actually usually pretty good these days about solid infrastructure, website designs, security practices, etc. It is unknown why this particular website (if it ever existed?) got hugged to death, but much of the Governmen

The fact that I had to read this far in to determine that a) this is an EU law (I think?) and b) still have no idea what this (proposed?) law is/does is frustrating to me. This link could have used some context. I don't have an is

As much as I dislike the current AI hype, a local on-machine AI model that can read/interpret videos/thousands of images (basically a recording of screen time combined with video/audio/handwriting of my everyday life), s

I get it at half price ($5.99/mo, no yearly sub), and between my spending at Amazon dropping by 90%, rarely ever watching prime video, and the price increases, I can't even justify it at that rate. I'm sure most will stay sub

Re: mental health That is because mental/psychological healthcare is completely broken in the US. Im currently dealing with the system for a family member, and I am shocked at just how hard it is to get help. Ignore the financials, mos

I came to this thread WITHOUT reading the article because I figured they were going to try classify "people with disabilities" as singular.

I could not get the links to load. "Americans"? Are Canadians included? (They are part of "America" being half of the North American continent and weed is legal there) Including Canada probably skews the results. Also a

You don’t consider vendor lock-in to be outlandish? Particularly when it is trivial to support much more? (literally just changing a setting)

I am surprised nobody has thought about looking into page content itself to help fight spam. If a blog has nothing except paid affiliate links (Amazon, etc.), ads, popups after page loads (news letter signups, etc) then it should probably b

Ooh, sorry, but I have to chime in on this. Percentage based pricing is the norm for any transaction for any amount. 30-50% is typically the retailers take. This also applies to claimed "low margin" PC hardware, games, etc. Manufa

Well, Netflix DOES control how you view video in your browser, however. Open a video in Firefox? No 4K for you. Hardware DRM is also used. Don’t have an HDCP-enabled display/GPU/Driver? Low bitrate welcomes you.

That revenue drop isn’t necessarily correlated with adblockers. Across my sites, adblockers have only been present in 20-30%. Ad engagement little changed. Only CPC/RPM has fallen. My data goes back to 2012 or so. Advertisers are payin
