Yeah, that seems to be the way it always goes. It's not actually all that difficult to build an AESA radar in your garage, it's just very hard to get enough of the types of parts needed for a useful one without nation state level

They aren't that dangerous on the ground due to the reentry process but there are busses out there that could be guided into the ISS if the attacker knew what they were doing.

Or at least being empowered to do what you think is right. If I don't know what to do and I'm gonna get yelled at for doing what I see as the biggest risk buy-down/most responsible task then I'm not doing shit.

I think the goal is to make sure that there isn't a ton of available talent for evil projects. Obviously there are assholes who will happily build slaughter bots for a comfy lifestyle but if we minimize that pool, the economy as a who

Yeah the code under the </> tab is very important, on first blush it looks like random isn't a uniform distribution for some reason. It's just because they plotted it with polar coordinates. It would be much clearer w

This is amazing, the GitHub ham radio and hardware scenes are way bigger than I previously thought. Shout-out to OpenRTX and M17 along with all the awesome SDR applications!

When you consider that many guided missiles are, in fact, fully autonomous AI robots that chase and kill people, damn straight.

There's nothing inherently wrong with anarchy, but there are plenty of things inherently wrong with totalitarianism. I really don't care how many pedophiles we catch if we continue to expand the definition of pedophiles to "

Nice, that's a good band selection. With the 9863 you could pretty much cover everything without even mixing but you'd be looking at some high end FPGAs and processors

At least in the US, you could kill as many people as you wanted and it wouldn't solve the problem, you'd just be guilty of committing a holocaust. Singapore has a lot of issues beyond just their drug laws. Their entire legal syst

How are you thinking you'll structure your frontend? I've been looking at ZIF, maybe the CMX991 or similar. One thing I've also been investigating is the possibility of pushing the bandwidth way up to 10-20MHz and using a la

Getting rid of tenure is fine but they'll need to pay much more to stay competitive. The calculous is fairly simple. Tenure track and then have an easy work life but less money, or go to industry and make lots of money but work more. N

I've also been working up an idea. You can do a lot with a frontend and ADC that can be on a single board and push everything into the digital domain where board to board connectors work better. I want to do a vhf/uhf+ dual slot

There are at least a couple companies trying to recreate the GOCE V-LEO concept for earth imaging. Apparently you can take better pictures when you're much closer to the earth. https://eoi.space/

I don't believe this is true, AF and RF have significant overlap on the frequency domain, AF is just baseband RF when it's on the wire. RF very much can work with a resistive load, a 50ohm dummy load will ohm out as 50 ohm DC on a

I'm no expert but FWIW, I find thinking about it as a resistance is unhelpful. It's much closer to a sort of "resonance coefficient". Sure it's measured in ohms but a 50 ohm cable will not "resist" the f

If any state is being propagandized into secession it's Florida right now. They, however, find themselves in a race with mother nature to see who will remove them from the continental US first.
