Technological locks aren't always about ethics. Often times it's about being practical. As much as people love bashing Apple, Apple works hard to give people a stable environment to build apps in. If you think it's not stable, then you've c

this is stupid. if the 'we' refers to humanity in general, of course we are. it's called the path of least resistance, and it's easy to find throughout nature.

Wow, cool. I had one of those card scanners, but they always end up being more work and I end up never using it. Can't wait to try this out.

I think it's important to note that this is an observation and not a correlation. It's a completely untestable hypothesis. Besides, if the article is trying to contrast against technology, I don't think the development cost of recipes is an

Sounds like you need some momentum to get the wheels turning again. Your mind sounds a bit claustrophobic - that is to say, lots going on that's making you go crazy. Go find some adventure and get off the road you're on. Go do something tha

People care about privacy, but they become complacent in giving it up. Remember the days when people were too scared to put their credit card into an internet website? Things have changed a lot since then, and it's hardly been 10 years.

I'm thinking a Facebook IPO might change the pace of things a bit. Once they're answerable to shareholders and wallstreet and people that are more concerned about profit than social media, their tune may change slightly. I'm sure they'll do

If you know how long you plan to travel and it's enough time to see a lot of stuff, an around the world ticket is worthwhile. Cost has gone up a little since I bought one, but if you've got the time and the drive, it's worth the money.

I bought an around the world ticket once. The bang for buck is pretty darn good, atleast when I bought it. Last I looked the prices had gone up a bit, but it was still an excellent value if you have the time to utilize it. If you're interes

That's interesting. But what about after factoring in the cost of transporting yourself from the airport to your destination? I'd imagine trains mostly go to the city centers while airports are more on the outer limits.

Ok, that's just plain wrong. Stores like the Apple Store or Fry's make their biggest margins on the accessories. Of course they care about selling as many any the can. You really think the margin on an iPhone is anywhere nearly as big as th

Certainly, but it doesn't change the fact that the market recognizes a place for the $29 product. You can walk into the Apple store and see ridiculously priced cases. It's because people are willing to pay. The market sets the price. If som

It's $29 because that's what the market said it's willing to pay for a piece of rubber and plastic. Basic market economics. If the market's not willing to pay, then the market will adjust the price. Apparently the market's willing to pay $2
