Reminds me when I moved to boston for a job as a young grad. Found a room available for rent on craigslist for $400 in a 2 floor apartment. Half way through living there, someone bought the vacant apartment downstairs and turns out the room

I feel like most engineers on hackernews/reddit have been underestimating AI tech. People always say it sucks and it gets starts hallucinating nonexistent libraries and what not but we are still in the early phase of this technology.

I worked with a blind dev and his screen reader is incomprehensible by everyone but him. It had to be at like 5-6x. Guy was a wizard. Sure he had some disadvantages with vision but the guy was wicked fast and would pump out the most code

Most of us on HN are well off and have the opportunity to WFH. Things aren't the same for the rest of the general public. All of those essential workers risking their necks for us should have access to masks.

That's another lie. Go to HD or Walmart and ask them how long they've been out of stock for. There was never a rush in the US. Healthcare workers should have their own supply from hospitals.
