I'm literally locked out of two of my Gmail accounts and there's no recourse for me. I'm not going to pay them to regain access. I'm just never going to use any of their services, paid or not.

Starting companies, even successful, relatively technical companies, does not preclude a person from being a charlatan. The charlatan part comes when he publicly dismissed the concerns of experts and claimed there wouldn't be a problem

To everyone replying: I think demand is rather different than popularity, ubiquity, or even supply of jobs. Even the link refers to Python being the top language of 2019, but "researchers at [...] Indeed" (note: a single job listi

I sold my car years ago and it is one of the most liberating things I've ever done. Yes, I live in a posh metropolitan area that makes it unnecessary to own a car and yes my housing is a bit more expensive, but I'm happier and hav

I can't speak to the specifics, but after working on a significant third-party SDK for iOS I can say that libdispatch isn't hard to use correctly, but it is easy to use incorrectly. Worse still, once you get yourself into a libdis

If you swipe down, type "advertising", the very first Settings link takes you to "Reset Advertising Identifier...". It is the same for swiping down from the home screen or in the Settings app. I don't think I'd

There was no Flash on the most popular smartphone (before Android took over). When ad tech went mobile they couldn't use Flash. So, ad tech shifted to web tech.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Guitars are sold for thousands of dollars. I've been making the argument for years that someone should create a bespoke keyboard business. I don't want to start that business though, I want to

I'd love to run Linux or NetBSD on the 3rd Gen Apple TV. I don't know if this would allow that. Last time I looked, the consensus was a hard no. There's also going to be tons of AirPort base stations that should be re-purpose

Not to mention, in dark mode window shadows and other UI hints are not discernible. Dark mode is a usability nightmare and after the initial intrigue of something new was gone, I set my computer back to light mode.
