OSINT should be all caps in the title link here on HN. Pedantic, but necessary. Other than that I'm concerned the list contains an item from Kaspersky. Any current or former US intel personnel would urge you to be skeptical of Kaspersk

Humankind the Civ rip-off game made with Unity is unplayable. I bought it hoping it would be kinda like Cities Skylines 1 was to Civ IV, but I've never been able to finish a campaign. I either get frustrated with the performance and qu

I keep clicking the "not interested" X button that closes the shorts section oh the homepage, but no matter what it just keeps coming back. Unkillable zombie style.

Just installed NetBSD on an old MacBook. Once I figure out how to use the uatp driver for the multitouch trackpad I plan on using this as my primary machine.

Yeah, I'm confused as well. Objective-C without C is Smalltalk. This looks like Python with types. Objective-C took a static language and made it dynamic with messages and objects. This takes a dynamic language and makes it more or les

Depends on the specific publication/conference within the org. ACM accepts LaTeX or Word. I always write in LaTeX, but got a paper accepted to an ACM conference that wanted Word and my beautiful photo ready paper got borked in the fina

The problem with the name is that I thought it was going to be something entirely different. The genius of the name is that I clicked the link. But I thought it was a debugging story about old software and that "Rascal" was a slig

Adobe has http://topcoat.io too. How many companies have multiple component libraries/frameworks? Seems like a lot of wasted time and resources.

Seems like we’re headed full circle. At some point in the future someone will rediscover the insanely overpowered machines in everyone’s home and hand with almost no latency.

I didn't know about these projects; GNU-less Linux is something I've wanted for a long time. Thanks. Are there any other projects you know of (as indicated by your ellipsis)?

I had no idea these machines existed. When tasked with writing a ray tracer way back in college, the first thing I did was create a scene description format based on S-expressions. Yesterday I was nostalgically looking at backups of the ass

I hate IntelliJ too. I don’t like any IDE for that matter. Emacs is muscle memory and nothing can emulate how it works properly. Emacs is so much more than it’s keybinding, yet that’s the only thing IDE/text editors attempt to emulate—
