I keep clicking the "not interested" X button that closes the shorts section oh the homepage, but no matter what it just keeps coming back. Unkillable zombie style.
- mitthrowaway2 3y ago[X] -- "Ok. We'll hide this for 30 days." Is that your idea of consent, youtube?
- d1str0 3y agoConsent was you typing in “youtube.com” to go to a privately owned website.
- mitthrowaway2 3y agoPerhaps, but that's the consent that they certainly don't want me to revoke. The part where my preferences are customizable is meant to be a mutually beneficial arrangement, because it prevents me from leaving.
- thiht 3y agoFun idea of consent. I hope you never walk on someone else's private property, even accidentally.
- Lammy 3y agohttps://www.mrfdev.com/enhancer-for-youtube https://www.mrfdev.com/enhancer-for-youtube can hide them for good
- sbarre 3y agoNot if you're on a device or a tablet, sadly.
- unforeseen9991 3y agoMaybe not if you are stuck in Apple's ecosystem, but on Android firefox extensions work
- Lammy 3y ago> Maybe not if you are stuck in Apple's ecosystem Even then: https://github.com/qnblackcat/uYouPlus https://github.com/qnblackcat/uYouPlus has a "Hide Shorts Cells" options :)
- sbarre 3y agoLol sure I want a 90% worse experience on an Android tablet just for that? This is like me complaining about gas mileage on a 1000km car trip and someone saying "you could always walk there!"... Yes I could but it's such a worse option overall.
- pseudo0 3y agoAfter it came back, I killed it permanently with uBlock origin. Yet another reason why Google wants to kill adblockers I guess.
- tonfreed 3y agoI got so sick of it I installed an extension to remove them.
