Tourist do visit the ruins we have, Monk Mound, Mesa Verde, Montezuma Castle, Gila Cliff Dwellings just to name a few. I don't want to be culturally insensitive, but our ruins are not as impressive as the pyramids in Mexico, South Amer

Phones are boring and utilitarian too. The difference is I used my pre-iPhones and could nitpick about the UI and other aspects to no end. I get in my car and the only thing I nitpick is the shit integration with my iPhone, but I don't

Tesla replaced the tactile controls with a big touch screen. In my mind that is going backwards. The great thing about cars is the physical tactile controls that can be used without looking. Aftermarket stereos always have a worse interface

I'm a lifelong Apple fan. I own almost everything they sell, but I don't want an Apple car. Not even a little bit. I'm not even curious to see what they do. I just am not interested. With phones it was obvious that Apple coul

Gotcha. I didn't know what this was called. Basically it is what I meant, but a good portion of deployed code doesn't use this from my experience. Personally I'd use an ORM, but that's just me.

Please explain! I assume you mean bind to a type, but how does that help when you build a SQL statement? Surely whatever type you use has a 'toString' (or language equivalent) that is explicitly or implicitly used with string conc

I think you underestimate how much stuff relies on string concatenation or string interpolation to build SQL statements that are also case-insensitive by nature. Yes, people should probably use an ORM and yes they should properly quote inpu

Actually, from a city pollution point of view, cars registered in Flagstaff do not even have to pass smog. Flagstaff does not suffer from pollution like much larger metropolitan areas. The local environment is completely beside the point an

Windows 95 is the best of Windows — no doubt about it. I think NeXTSTEP was the pinnacle of all UX and it is pretty clear to me that Windows 95 copied NeXTSTEP, albeit rather badly. If only Apple would return to a refined NeXTSTEP like inte
