I can answer that that precisely: 4. I was testing Homebrew in a virtual machine to see how it compared to MacPorts, Nix, and Pkgsrc at the time and can restore the virtual machine with Terminal still open and my complete session viewable.

Here is one more reason I use MacPorts, because it never does crap like this: $ brew search x11 x11vnc Error: GitHub API Error: API rate limit exceeded for 0.0.0.0. (But here's the good n ews: Authenticated requests get a hi

Maybe they updated the error message. Here is what it said that last time I tried Homebrew: $ brew info texlive Installing TeX from source is weird and gross, requires a lot of patches, and only builds 32-bit (and thus can't

$ sudo port install texlive +full Have you tried installing TeX Live with Homebrew? I can't even fathom using a package manager that complains about managing packages 'cause it is too hard.

Let's say you want to video chat with someone using only web browsers, you would establish a direct peer-to-peer connection with WebRTC and then you could stream H.264 video to each other. I'd say WebRTC and H.264 compliment each

If you follow Leslie Jones on Twitter, you'll know that this isn't crap. Leslie (@Lesdoggg) who is famous yet both black AND female has terrible luck with Uber. Here is one example: https://twitter.com/Lesdoggg

Well we can split hairs over this all day, but Musk and Trump (Bernie Sanders too) fit the definition of demagogues IMO. People like the cars because they view them as antiestablishment. e.g. better than what other car makers are building —

I don't think I'm missing the point. You can't invoke a constitutional right for otherwise breaking the law. EDIT: I don't want to reply to everyone, but if you could invoke the first amendment in the way you all are arg

I maintain my own fork of JSC that I use on Android. I've been focused on reducing its size and hope that it one day can be way smaller than it currently is. I managed to get it down to less than 800kB when compiled for ARM.

Floating settlements in the atmosphere of Venus would be interesting. There is at least an argument to be made about settling Venus before Mars. Likewise, I'm not sure why Mars is the first choice, especially when the moon is so close.

Wow, so much naysaying here. When I hear about private plans vs government plans I think back to what Neil deGrasse Tyson said: > Private enterprise will never lead a space frontier. In all the history of human conduct, it’s as clear to
