Awesome, heartfelt post. It really got me reminiscing about the good ol' times in hot, humid Boston that summer.

This is a really fresh approach to asking for money, and also can be applied to art. It reminds of what my hero, Richard Feynman, who was reluctant to ask for a price for his drawings, later said about art: "I understood that to sell a draw

I've use both Linode (personal) and Slicehost (picwing). AFAIK, Linode still does not have automatic backups, which is really simple on Slicehost.

We're using Slicehost (Hosting) AWS (Storage) Authorize.net (Recurring Billing) Bank of America (Banking) and we're currently looking into paying for an 800 number...anyone have any suggestions for this?

Thanks for the awesome suggestions. Just to add to Enrique's comment, there is no commitment. You can cancel your plan at any time.

I can say that from our own personal experience at Picwing that getting into hardware is no easy task. Like many in this thread have commented, it is a very messy, expensive, time consuming ordeal. So if you can at all avoid doing it, the

Before leaving to go YC SFP 2008, I was working at Volkswagen, so I have a slight bias towards VWs and Audis. They're fun cars. I might be able to still get some discounts, so PM me if you want, and I'll see if I can help you out.

You can specify which emails are allowed to send pictures to your frame. We have some software that will filter out forged headers on emails as well. So far, it hasn't been a problem for us.
