Lille's isn't so bad except for the fact that Lille-Europe pretty much only has Eurostar and Lille-Flandres is most everything else. It's walkable but a bit announcing.

There are a couple of Chrome apps that can run offline and do coding. I've used Caret and Advanced REST client on occasion for things. It gets a bit tricky if you need something that can't work without a real webserver but there&#

Here we go again with the undying myth of everyone/most with Glass all secretly recording everyone. Glass is no more surreptitious than Spectacles. My peer group used Glass for active stuff. We took video of ourselves rollerblading, pl

Until recently, at my job, the choices were rather underpowered Windows machine or MBP. That was mostly because it was HR-types that chose Windows. I spend 98% of my time in Linux on my MBP and only spin it up which I have to use the camera

We have a dog policy at my work but you have to house the pet in a specified meeting room and only move it when in transit to walk the dog or leave. That also means that there's generally a limit of one dog at a time. We also had someo

I took the SCJP (Sun Certified Java Programmer) exam back in the day. You did come out of it knowing details of the Java language very well. The Microsoft certs at the time were mostly how to use Visual Studio. The SCJP opened a few doors (

I used OrgMode during graduate school for all my math/science formula heavy papers. Org lets you mix OrgMode outlining (which is very close to Markdown) and LaTeX. I generally write in org mode and then export to whatever I need to. I

The article's thesis was pretty weak IMHO. Eight paragraphs about why it is useful to speak Chinese and only one that addresses the claim in the title that it is easier. The claim that Zuckerberg was fluent in 4 years is pretty tepid.
