They definitely had some capacity issues near the end. On Christmas Eve I saw a UPS driver in a U-Haul truck in my neighborhood then later saw a U-Haul truck pulled up back to back with a UPS truck and they were handing off packages in a st

My understanding of how n-key rollover was finally implemented in USB keyboards was by putting a USB hub in the keyboard and having the keyboard pretend to be several keyboards all at once.

Yeah. The author of this article apparently didn't read the GMail announcement carefully enough. Email marketers can no longer track when email is opened on GMail accounts because every single image is opened whether the user reads the

Never thought I'd see the day when medical conspiracy theory website NaturalNews is linked to on Hacker News as proof of something. Sure, we can all expect links to it on Facebook from that one crazy aunt or uncle most people have but

I too couldn't leave comments. It took me awhile to figure out it was because I was blocking third party cookies. Apparently the new G+ comments on YouTube rely on them.

Off topic but why do so many people capitalize "id" as "iD"? I did myself years ago as well but I have no idea why I did. None of their logos use that capitalization and my memory of the early games is too poor to reca

I don't know how accurate this is but I've read that the TI OMAP processor division no longer exists so the Galaxy Nexus can't receive updates that it may need to support 4.4.

A bit nitpicking but that's a different statement than saying the earth is 6,000 years old. "Humans in their present form" is a very vague statement. You could take it to mean god imparted the knowledge of agriculture upon h

The GC is optional in D (parts of the standard library use it so you'd have to avoid those). D uses RAII when it makes sense too.

C++11 borrowed a few good ideas from D and other languages so that certainly helped close the gap between D and C++ but D is still significantly nicer to work in than C++ (which is what I spend all day at work writing). You can use RAII all

I'm not sure where you got that idea but that's not true. The standard library make heavy usage of the GC. There is talk of implementing ARC to replace or supplement the GC and the standard library will most likely soon start us
