They can do that with pricing. E.g. when the grid most needs the power, price the surplus accordingly. I think NEM 3.0 has some provisions for that where power in the 4pm to 7pm block (or close to that) is bought back at a high rate.

This part is flat out wrong: “ Researchers from UC Berkeley, CMU, Stanford, and UC San Diego open sourced Vicuna, a fine-tuned version of LLama that matches GPT-4 performance.” They used gpt 4 to evaluate answers between GPT-3 and Vicuna.

At worse, it’s replacing natural gas with fossil fuel. At best, it increases demand so more renewables are built.

Before, it had to read the 16GB into a buffer, which itself could be written to disk if the system needs to page out. That is a big reason startup time is fast.

Unless you actually use the memory (e.g. allocate it), it won’t impact system performance, but yeah, it definitely is overhead.

They should incorporate a minimum size for every file when calculating how much quota you have. Because they have no retrieval fees for gsuite, I bet it is expensive dealing with drives with tons of small files. Agree they are rolling this

Doesn’t this just boil down to whether GPT can distinguish between human written answers and GPT written ones? The actual questions don’t matter at all. It doesn’t seem like a hard problem if you use a default prompt.

Sitting on a home with 2-3% interest is all well and good, until the value drops and you’re sitting on a much worse asset. I.e. if you own a second home with a 3% interest rate, should you sell now or collect rent on it?

It’s ironic that AWS touts the benefit Lambda gets from overcommit, but if you build a lambda that simply turns around and makes an api call, you are paying full price for the cpu usage, even though it’s idle.

Doesn’t it depend on how many cpu cores to some extent and how much the ruby process is idle on io? Amazon doesn’t over commit cpu for normal VM instance types.

You can buy reserved instances that are about half the price as on-demand, so it really depends on how long the peaks are.
