I think there's a false leak here, because one of the comments on the Bloomberg article mentions them going with a design where the battery is external and connected via a wire to the headset (to prevent heat issues). That seems like s

This is precisely how Western Governor's University (WGU) works, as I understand. You do the modules and when you've completed them (at your own pace), you get the degree. I had a teacher in high school who did this to get a IT de

The Copilot Chat thingy they have in private beta has this, you can highlight a block and ask it to simplify/optimize. Not sure how well it works in big multi-file examples, but I had a block of PowerShell in a single file it was able

Curious, why wouldn't you rather them buy you (or issue you) a work laptop and you get a personal laptop? Just don't use work hardware for not work things. (Unless you don't make enough to buy a personal laptop I guess, but o

We are pretty much right back where we started with OpenAPI. You can generate a client (or a server) from this YAML file that a lot of frameworks can generate for you from your code, and the file also describes the types. I wouldn't sa

Have I been asleep at the wheel or is this libvirtd change a RHEL only thing? Last few times I spun up libvirt on Ubuntu, there was only libvirtd. Maybe it spins up the non-monolithic services in the background and I didn’t notice?

Pay per second Linux boxes with public IPs. A lot of the VPS/server hosts I used in the past took minutes to boot an instance and billed you by the hour (or maybe by the month, although that was uncommon), not so with EC2. There’s much

The only problem with that is that Docker lambdas boot slower than lambdas with the built in runtime (not ridiculously slow, but could be 2x or something). God help you anyway if you’re trying to do something latency sensitive on Lambda, bu

Why doesn’t Reddit allow users of the API to log in via OAuth and then pay for Reddit gold to get access? Then the apps can keep letting users call the API directly without a proxy server, and they still get paid. (Yes, I’d like the API to

Current browser research suggests you don’t need JIT, as evidenced by the ability to disable it on iOS. Wonder how close you could get to “great” performance with a Firefox port without JIT.
