Regardless of the complications of real-time audio with Ruby, I wasn't intending that. I was talking about generating MIDI files (with very fine resolution timing) and then playing back the already generated MIDI files, so I had no wor

I'm there with you. I can enjoy some programming games, but it's typically short lived. What I enjoy in programming is creating real and at least semi-useful stuff, not getting more points on a scoreboard.

Sadly I don't see MIDI exporting support. I looked at making one of these music generation programming languages before, but just ran out of time for it. My goal was quite ambitious though: 1. Support MIDI exporting (so you could get i

There's no reason this isn't possible with a VST plugin, if you're willing to do it the old fashioned way of grabbing some speakers, playing(monitoring) the playback out, and standing next to them with an instrument. Now, if

There are too many nonlinearities in real circuits and valves to perfectly model with current technology(or programming methods), but you're absolutely spot on that 99% of people can't tell the difference, even musicians. It'

Realistically, this is also true of most modern music. Sure it requires a bit more equipment, but with software amp simulation and the plethora of VST plugins you can get, you can almost always get a tone similar to your target for just a c

The really crappy part to me is when I see an obvious rip of a content creator I know, I go in and look for how to make a pirated content report. Facebook makes this _IMPOSSIBLE_ unless you are the rights holder

In theory there would definitely be some tax increases even for middle class, ideally it'd be closely balanced so that the non-conditional UBI would balance out the tax increases

No, UBI is everyone receives X amount of money, no questions asked. The theory is that the tax increases etc balance this out for the middle class so that they effectively earn the same amount of money with the UBI income

For all the hate Creative Cloud gets, I love it as a hobbyist. I have a subscription for I think $10 or $20/month and even though sure I could save up and have purchased the software one-time outright, but last time I looked at buying
