That’s fair, it’s gone on so long that the problem it was solving for has evolved. Someone has to be strong enough to know when to cut the sunk cost and shift gears and that’s how I’m choosing to look at the current situation.

I’m speaking of SLS. It’s a solution in search of a problem.

I hesitated posting this because my very moderate east coast American perspective seems to be appreciated less and less here. I posted this on a lazy Sunday morning and it got a lot of positive initial comments and discussion. Then a few ho

That’s a great point. I think it’s just trying to boil the ocean.

Does it? Do we want to repeat what we did 50 years ago or do we want to do something better and stay this time?

Beyond FL, they’re careful to make sure parts of the rocket at built in EVERY state! Now something that should be cutting edge innovation is tied to Congress which is intentionally not innovative and you wonder why it falls behind.

I’m trying to think how I feel about this. I’ve been obsessed with space for a long time, remember traveling to see my first rocket launch of the shuttle in 2006. Follow the commercial development closely since then. Their science missions

2 gigawatts of output would require about 8,000 acres of solar panels. The energy density just isn't there compared to gas. https://www.energea.com/understanding-scale-solar-projects/

Surely this is an extreme use case, but do individuals get to choose which companies get access to power? The same could be said about any business. And the same could be said about any consumable resource. It’s a slippery slope.

If you created that, or any amazing achievement, how quick would you be to share that it was the AI and not "natty"?

It’s ok to store this stuff until the triggered tech is available. Even if it’s done in orbit around the moon. This was impossible to think about 10 years ago but it’s possible in the next 10

I appreciate that! It's not the cost fluctuation that is a problem, just the fact that usage and price goes up in the summer and the cost scales so quickly. Battery storage is a hack that may work financially for now but I'm more

I would love to have just enough solar to flatten my peak usage on the hottest days of the summer. They naturally coincide with tons of sun. I don't need a huge system to be all solar all the time or even care about credits from the po

Dating later in life with children and this is something I don’t need research to tell me. If you’re in your 30s-40s without kids and a dog, we’re of totally different mindsets.

It’s not just a perspective. Tesla was doing this just fine, building tons of chargers, profitably. The government attempts to stimulate more but at a much higher cost. I have yet to charge anywhere but a Tesla charger. I do think the NACS

It says “only 20% more than energy efficient windows” but those “energy efficient windows” are usually 50% more than the average quality window. Higher quality triple pane windows exist, and they are a luxury for most homeowners. It’s great
