Play the game. You know the rules and you know what you need to do to win the game. So just suck it up and do it. It does not take much more than 1-2 hours of dedicated interview prep over the course of a month to be successful in whiteboar

There isn't much hard probability/statistics in deep learning since most of the stuff is empirical(IE: these neural network architectures work b/c we tried it and it works!). I'd say that deep learning is very accessible
