GP is kind of right though. Flakes are effectively packages for Nix expressions. Even priginal Flakes RFC calls this out. But the difference is, as you mentioned, flakes are integrated within Nix, and provide better ergonomics.

Thanks, I was not aware of this. I will try it out. On another note, do you have any idea why Pi foundation still recommends 32bit images for Raspbian?

I'm not worried about initial setup time, but consecutive updates. But looks like I was wrong and there is a cache as long as I use aarch64. I'm not sure why Pi foundation recommends 32bit image, but NixOS should be fine imo.

I've been wanting to use Nix(OS) on my Pi for a year now. But from what I understand, there is no binary cache for ARM yet. Building every required package on Pi is out of the question and I don't have another persistent system fo

Considering those same employers also get massive subsidies for every kind of self-inflicted damage, which results in massive C-suit cash-outs and buy-backs, this is the least the commons could hope for.

Do you have documentation or any blog post on your setup? Lsat I tried snapcast, it worked, but eventually had too much lag between nodes. And there is no UI bundled by default, so I was wondering what the most mature frontend would be.
