Given that a fair few devices will fill-in the "interface" bits of the IPv6 address with their MAC (SLAAC), it might be possible to reduce the number of addresses to scan in an IPv6 /64 prefix assuming you know what devices a

To some degree I think this is what they (Parler) wanted, it creates press and attention for them. It's free advertising. Whether it be hosting your domain with GoDaddy or your servers with Amazon, you would have to be incompetent to n

I don't see why they can't make a deal with Comcast to have access to their public Wi-Fi network so that their Smart TV's "just work".

I would love to support them and buy from their shop but $25 shipping is a bit much. I guess it'll just be a regular donation.

Sounds like something that AppImage is perfectly suited for, given that each application is a one-click executable with automatic updating built-in and can optionally provide a predictable execution environment although it's not a cont

ARM is not owned by NVIDIA (US). The deal is still going through and is expected to take 16 months for it to be completed assuming no other countries (UK, China, etc.) try to block it before then. It's a bit premature to assume it'

What exactly is the rationale behind changing the default branch name? It seems like significant effort is being devoted to this (code changes, fixing broken CI, etc.) but I don't understand why any of it is necessary.

I would argue the habits of most people are restricted to a browser on the desktop. I doubt their OS and native applications are likely to be a barrier beyond simply how their UI looks.

Is it worth considering the pollution and financial costs of replacing a battery? I suspect writing more efficient software would allow batteries to last longer and manufacturing new lithium batteries is anything but easy on the environment

That's true and it'll likely prove to be a good business decision although not necessarily one that benefits the end user in the long run. I'm also not suggesting they use POWER for mobile applications neither did I suggest t

It's a shame they didn't switch back to PowerPC, more momentum behind OpenPOWER would have being nice to see and allow more freedom to the end user.

It seems it was between 1997 and 2003 where spending on the NHS began to dramatically increase. I'm not sure it's fair to say that between 1950 and 1997 that it's growth was exponential. https://www.ifs.org.uk/

If you want a centralised repository of AppImages you might as well just use the distributions package manager for that.

Perhaps a potential solution is POW based registration, registration is slow and CPU heavy. I don't think it's likely there is going to be a perfect solution to this and might be that it's better to slow down bad users and ma

That makes this all much more suspicious. Given the shadiness of Palantir, I have to wonder what they are hoping to get out of this.

I much prefer AppImage, just recently I created one that packaged an old windows game and included the required dependencies (wine, libopenal, etc). Starting the AppImage is as simple as "./game.AppImage" and in theory would

I'm using old.reddit.com and wasn't aware they started doing this. Reddit is turning into a dumpster fire, it's bad enough I have to use the old UI so that it doesn't burn a hole in the cpu.

Pirating a game introduces concerns over malware, in some cases it might be low risk however buying and refunding would eliminate those concerns. I also consider DRM to be malware so GOG is the better choice in my opinion.

The moon also has water and it's a lot closer. Whatever goes wrong on Mars, it might be months or years before they receive help. Building the technology and experience with something a lot closer might be a better option before moving
