As far as I can see, Project Baltimore is just this organization's name for its articles on Baltimore issues. There was not any separate study.

I am the same way with HN, Reddit, or news sites. Every day I don't check the site, I feel like I am missing out on some important indispensable news and information.

I don't disagree but that is not issue here. The issue is that for the purposes of discussing the mechanics of the tube like strength, seals, safety etc. the small amount of air left in the tube should not throw off simple calculations

I don't think that objection, by itself, invalidates the the video author's criticisms. According to Wikipedia, the hyperloop is intended to have a pressure of 100 Pa or 0.1 % of atmospheric pressure[1]. That is not much different

This is a silly thing to argue about, but the article ends with a 5 paragraphs on how "Everett is far from the only current Chomsky challenger." And Everett has his own explanation of why his ideas still stand. It is a good articl

Your [2] summarizes the whole situation evenhandedly. Far from being a take down of Everett, it ultimately comes down slightly on his side of the controversy.

You can plot out the wire gauges you want on a log scale and then round them to nice whole (metric measurement) numbers. That is in fact what is done for things like fasteners.

Sure. Those number I gave could be areas. I am not certain this the right standard, but IEC 60228 specifies 0.5 mm2, 0.75 mm2, 1 mm2, 1.5 mm2, 2.5 mm2, 4 mm2 etc... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60228

awg14 or whatever isn't exactly the perfect gauge for whatever application it is used for. It is somewhat arbitrary. A nice metric system of gauges would have 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 3 mm, etc. and there would be still be a nice round number gau
