After using this for a few minutes, I have to admit, I'm really impressed. I had moved away from FF3 over to Chrome over a year ago, but this new beta is enough to seriously tempt me back. It launches Fast (even faster than b8), and it rend

Yes, I meant 10.5, sorry. I hadn't thought about upgrades for existing customers, that makes quite a bit of sense. I was only considering that all New customers were 10.6+, so targeting 10.5 didn't make much sense. Thanks for clearing that

I'm curious- If you're distributing through the AppStore only, and the App Store doesn't support 1.5, why maintain the code?

I think that has been a great deal in the past, but these days it seems frustratingly obvious that the April Fools Day posts are sometimes little more than market research. It seems to take some of the humor out of it. Also- While the orig.

A company I once worked at, 800-Free-411 is still operational. They're Ad-funded, so they should in theory be independent of a larger company's whim to shut down sluggish divisions.

Sorry about that, I was incautious and didn't double-check. In my (slight) defense, I've been up a very long time, but I messed that one up, and I apologize. PeggerMegger sounds like a neat company name, though.

I suspect this is targeted at people who are giving Microsoft a hard time over problems in Windows XP and prior- For instance, people still joke about Windows Bluescreens, but they are a very infrequent occurrence in Win7.

That was a great video; I think it's great that First Round is trying to build their individual brand in the community. Josh's intro was brilliantly done. That said, I was amazed how cut down they all were. I'd seen the previews of a few v

I did a midrange deployment with bcfg2 (~250 machines), and what I found is that it was slow to use. Firing off a bcfg2 push would take almost 20 minutes, which was pretty unusable; The big problem was that it didn't handle large numbers

Yes; The observation is that HN does monetize. It's effectively a filtering mechanism and advertising tool for YC and YC companies.

I like the idea, nck4222! How do I mark things as spam or ham? A sidebar on the right that explains what the site is might help me know what I'm doing, or how to use it. Also- It might be nice to add a few suggested feeds, under the add fee

I think it's a very positive sign that they're interested enough in you to make a custom package, and try to make things work. Get the options thing in writing, but otherwise, if you like the job, take it. Heck, it may even get you closer t

I had tried launching a Reddit/Hacker News clone that used Real Names, but wasn't able to get anywhere. HN mostly ignored it, and Reddit users were rather hostile to the idea. You can read the details at - http://e1ven.com/2010/09/15/lonav

It's pretty telling that someone thought it was worthwhile to pay $400 just to deliver that message. Posting to Craigslist is free, but if they're posting to 37Signals Job board, they must be VERY frustrated.

They may do this, but it likely wouldn't be so soon after the iTunes icon change a few months ago- If they were going to drop the brand, they would have done so then.. Or at least not gone through the effort to rebrand.
