Keep it up! Posts like these are great on a tech level, but they're also good recruitment - Seeing Python, along with hackers that I respect (like you) at Netflix make me at least the littlest bit tempted to go there ;)

I'm curious - I believe that in many states you need to register in the state you live, even if you are also registering in DE. Does Clerky guide you though this process as well? I believe that DE also requires an agent on-site? Do you pro

How is this different from LegalZoom, Nolo and other do-it-yourself services? The quality of the forms?

A rehash of an old joke, not done particularly well. Basically, his theory is that any Distributed Social Network can/should be dismissed. Also, screw you for trying. The (original?) SPAM version had more interesting reasons, and also, SPAM

It's a difficult situation, and there's no generic advice. If this isn't something you're planning to pursue, I'd use what (if any) money is left to wind down the company. Declare corporate bankrupcy, file a dissolution form, and close up s

I feel like such a youngin ;) I know that I was reading Reddit at the time, but I think I read about News.ycombinator on another site - Perhaps Techcrunch? One of the things that really flavored the early community was that many (most?) of

Sadly, the ones in external cases are cheaper these days, since they're targeted differently. ;( Take a look at http://blog.backblaze.com/2012/10/09/backblaze_drive_farming... If you're not afraid of shucking cases, there are a number of

1Password on OSX is one of the only blockers from using Linux as my primary desktop right now- I've tried LastPass, KeepPass, and others, but haven't found anything that works as well ;(

For all the flak HN gets about fnid problems, etc, it's still awe-inspiring to me that such a popular site runs on a single server, with so little admintime ;)

Of course, PG/RTM could generate a fairly accurate heatmap by running analysis on the webserver logs. I'd be curious to see the "official" results, if they were willing to release them.

Very neat project. I can see several use-cases for this where I work- It'd be nice to have alternatives means of searching through data. I'd also like to mention a project I've been contributing to, Mongolike [My fork is at https://github.

Maybe I'm missing something. Sim City has always seemed like choose-your-own objectives.. Why can't you make a quiet sidewalk city? I've made several nice farm towns, and it's part of what makes SimCity fun for me.

I suspect that drawkbox's point was that it would have a ripple effect - Fewer MacPros mean fewer games, fewer games might mean people are less likely to switch in general.

I don't mean to speak for the OP, but I'm not particularly comfortable with that idea. I don't necessarily know how well you are protecting them, or if your admins are able to copy my password. Even if you encrypt it, who's to say how well?
