Putting aside the point of whether or not it was actually prudent to buy the domain, you take on an attitude that suggests that saving the $500k would have led to a better product. With $41M at hand, I'm not sure that's the case.

Considering Reddit isn't profitable (or barely so, I can never remember), I highly doubt they have anywhere near the cash needed to do that. Also, the only reason conde nast would do this is to make a return on their fairly lost investment

Its a pretty fantastic chat tool. It provides message status (read/delivered), an easy way to transfer contacts, photos and videos right in the IM and it let's you create groups. Groups share all the aforementioned benefits as well as group
