You need connection to card scheme, which means you need ton of paperwork, which means you need ton of money. That's biggest issue :-) For technical side - there are companies selling complete SDKs.

Obviously it's crap and shouldn't be allowed. However I don't see how it affects my arguments. I'm generally ok with cars - doesn't mean I'm OK with monster trucks on every corner of my city.

It's optional if you want "add to wallet button". That's not related to ability to create own app - on both ios and Android you can access NFC hardware directly (on iOS it's limited geographically), and send card da

Banks do that for p2p payments and e-commerce (like iDeal mentioned by sibling comment or BLIK in Poland). For physical transactions there's barrier of hardware and network effect - everybody has card terminal. Users expect near 100% a

IMO advertising itself is ok, if not targeted by profiling user. I'm reading about bikes and I'm offered a bike or helmet? Fine by me. Problem starts, when I'm scrolling $socialWebsite and I see ton of biking ads, because som

It's not. It enables free content, but most of it is crap quality. Assume there's no ad network that tells you that user is into high-end bikes. You cannot produce cheap rage bait and then market bikes, because you'll likely

Exact opposite - k8s allows developers to actually tailor containers/pods/deployments themselves, instead opening tickets to have it configured on VM by platform team. Of course there are simpler container runtimes, but they have

We're almost 100 devs in a few teams - works well. There's a bunch of companies of our size even in the same city. What's a bit different is we're creating own products, not renting people to others, so having uniform ho

If you don't want complexity of operators, you'll be probably OK with DB cluster outside of k8s. They're quite easy to setup, automate and there are straightforward tools to monitor them (eg. from Percona). If you want to ful

Our devs are responsible for their docker image and the app. Then other team manages platform. You need some level of cooperation of course, but none of the devs cares too much about k8s internals or how the storage works.

Sorry, but that's just ton of FUD. We run both private cloud and (for a few customers) AWS. Of course you have more maintenance on on-prem, but typical k8s update is maybe a few hours of work, when you know what you are doing. Also AWS
