You would disclose what you know, along with prior art. The company's patent attorney makes a call (along with applicable liabilities) whether it's patentable, USPTO makes a call whether it's patentable, and maybe eventually

I thought the legal side would work in a similar fashion as EU-US Privacy Shield?

HN may cite legitimate business interest and not oblige in deletion. A more extreme example can be that when you perform a deletion, do you also deep delete from logs and backups of logs? What if you need to keep them for audit and forensic

Maybe something like Privacy Shield[0]. Granted, if you were not in US or EU, then it may be harder. [0] https://www.privacyshield.gov

There are some incentive misalignments. Each AS that configures it is doing it to protect its neighbors, and does not benefit from itself having configured this way. Best practice suggestions only go so far. Another aspect is, if you config

You can remember a small set of resolved hosts for this purpose, not unlike remembering DNS servers or CAs to trust. A quick search online also says it's possible to issue a cert to a public IP address, so you can also do HTTPS to a nu

This looks interesting, and I wasn't aware of this API before. The downside is you have to send a plaintext or at best SHA1 to that server, which creates another problem even if the server is not logging and can be trusted.

Uber is not the only unicorn. There are others. Maybe by convincing these women and other under-represented to join others, they can actually become more productive and bring more value. Your logic seems to say, back in 2008, we shouldn

Canadian here. Been in the US for two years doing grad school. When I went back to Canada once the Canadian customs told me I should declare myself as a "US resident visiting Canada". I am a resident of US for tax purposes obviously. I thin

The Great Wall of China had one of those fire towers every some distance (to alert invasions I think), kind of like the set up in the LoTR: The Two Towers. I never thought people would use these signaling methods to actually transmit these

How do you send a mail using a real MTA? If I set up Sendmail and use the mail function in python or something, is that the right way to do it?

Wouldn't people just downvote all others and get all their friends to vote on his own? I didn't read it carefully; maybe they have something to prevent that.

You should launch on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Mondays still feel like weekends, and Friday everyone wants weekend to happen. Thursday is also not as good because people wait for fridays.

The way I see it, there will always be something that takes us (the users) to the next level. Maybe you have all the racks and detergents, then you discover the dishwasher. Maybe some day we'll get an oven+fridge all in one. It might be har

When I was looking into it I found that wiki tells quite a bit of info. Also there are usually (I think .es included) English websites that can register for you. Some of the domains require you to be a resident of that country or have a bus

This has been brought up before. But if you use gloves of nontrivial thickness (I am from Montreal), then you pretty much can't use any phone with gloves anyway.

I was going to suggest MBP until I saw that you'll use linux on it. I have one, but I wouldn't suggest buying it just for the hardware. But then, all your other constraints call for a MBP. So I'd say either a thinkpad or a MBP.

There should be a way for the readers of wiki to know which sections have been there for a while (therefore probably more accurate), and which parts are frequently changed (therefore more debatable), so that they can get a better picture of

You should try taking a logic course. Apparently it makes you think more clear and argue better. I regret not taken one and now it's too late as I am about to graduate. Oh and I think you can also prove things better, and see more tricky ca
