Still then, it's a stretch to say that Jai influenced other languages. How could it when only a handful of game-centered applications have been built by a handfull of devs? Rust and Zig developed features by cutting their teeth on larg

How has Jai introduce ideas if it’s not even released? How can we claim to know what it did “right” when only a few projects have been built in it?

While I welcome the places where it is bringing value, I’m more worried about all the places it’s being shoehorned in that are a waste of money, fueling the bubble. The blast radius is going to be spectacular.

That’s a matter of where you get your taxes from. Plenty of corporations can afford to pay a more fair share. And studies on basic income have so far shown it to be effective.

This is a disappointing thread to find - HN is usually a little more thoughtful than throwing around insults like "insufferable AI cheerleader". If I can provide a different perspective, I find your writing on LLMs to be useful.

Clearly those jobs have "inherent value", or The Market would not have sunk a few billion into automating away the people that do them. These are jobs that people have been doing for years, and been getting paid money to do. Look

Government job programs were a defining feature of economic prosperity during the New Deal. Saying jobs for the sake of jobs are bad isn’t historically true.

They could have a better driving assistance package than 99% of other cars on the road for 1/10 the price by using OpenPilot as the LKAS, or installing a Comma in the car. Real shame nobody has taken that approach, not even a fork

On top of it being visually unappealing, I hate ads that take the misanthrope route to appeal to people’s worst nature. Wow, you hate Christmas, thanks McD.

That’s about ads, not sticker price on the shelf, and about a lack of obligation to sell at that price. It does not say that it’s alright to lie and charge a different price at the register.

You think a company the size of OAI should have a single priority? That makes no sense, that’s putting all their eggs on one basket.

That wasn’t the original question though. Twitter and Messenger are also untrustworthy. Telegram’s message export is very good compared to all the other options.

This is a weird article. It’s titled “how to use vsock” but 95% is how to set up Bazel, gRPC, and building a C++ project. And then 5% is a link to an off-site Twitter thread of screenshots for setting up a Linux VM image and running that i

You can use Cloudflare for DNS, but you just can’t use them for proxying the traffic. I use Cloudflare with proxying on for everything other than a plex subdomain.
