So a competitor to WeWork would have to spend even more than WeWork to compete vs the brand. They’d be even more strapped for cash for PR/ads than the main player. They have the first mover advantage.

But you still haven’t given me an example. Thusly any competitor to come into this space would have to spend as much as WeWork at least to unseat them or to make a competitive brand for themselves. Sure the market’s not new, but the solidif

Starbucks does not have more competitive gross margins than Local Coffee Co. would to be a big enough differentiator.

Let’s go with your argument. What economies of scale and purchasing power would make for a differentiable competitive difference vs Local Coffee Co? Are those economies the driving force for Starbucks success? For their competitive advantag

You’re disregarding brand appeal. Starbucks has no real competitive advantage over Local Coffee Co. other than great location, decor and brand appeal too. Thats what OP argues were the deciding factors for them. To attribute nice decor as b

Did Google ever see itself as prioritizing publishers and consumers equally? I think that’s a false premise and the parent is right; Google’s priority has always been consumer first.

How many smartphones display at that kind of width? I’m guessing it’s not a negligible percentage.

1) I didn’t say broken, I said ‘doesn’t properly display‘. 2) How many other smaller phones exist on the market? It’s disingenuous to say it’s .5%. This is not some complex item- it should simply not look like this. If the simple stuff is m

A little off topic, but what a world we live in when a prominent browser maker is advertising a new browser with a webpage that doesn’t properly display its main tagline on small devices (iPhone SE) https://i.imgur.com/WkqsU

I’ve seen them say that and in the general it’s true, but Tesla has been hush on revelaing any sort of demand with the Y and it doesn’t seem like the Y is that much bigger than a 3 to entice those people who’re holding out on a low end Tesl

Wouldn’t families strongly prefer a larger car period? Is the Y really that much bigger that it’d convert families who are holding out on a 3 due to size? I haven’t seen anything to suggest as much, and both the 3 and Y are def less roomy t

Agree with most of the above except for the "Model Y likely depressing demand"- is there any indication that the Model Y is in demand at all?

I think it sounds like hunt-in-guh and will-in-guh. Not sure about a "second" g, but there is definitely some kind of emphasis on the final g.

I’m not sure if I understand you- FOMO is just the fear of missing out on investing in a company that has a likelihood of making it big. In the case of Magic Leap, VCs bought into the team’s background and expertise and banked on the likeli

That FOMO is rampant; if you’re waiting for the startup to prove its tech, you’ve likely missed the investment boat already. Just saying, there is definitely some rationale to it, esp when considering how investment portfolios are precipita

Could not disagree more with the moral. Write prototypes for sure, toss code out a lot early on, and then once you’ve nailed the direction, start iterating on refactoring the prototype. But to eschew prototype code from the start? That’s a

I dont think this is a valid argument: muscle memory is extremely contextual. Your muscle memory for your phone is definitely different from your laptop, and I don’t think the context switch is actually a hindrance. This would extend to dif

I’d only disagree with your ‘I don’t want to remember gestures on a trackpad’- much like keyboard shortcuts, muscle memory makes for very easy pickup of intuitive gestures; there’s little to “remember”. I’m sure nowadays you don’t have to t

Is logical consistency not a core tenant of a rational argument? I’ll concede that some people don’t value logical consistency - but that doesn’t make them more rational in their arguments. If there is subjectivity in a ‘logical inference’
