But that's for you to pursue (to sue the fraudster would be a first step). Without a court decision, the counterparty has no reason to go after another person than the one on the contract.

I often had speed issues between OVH servers in the US and Hetzner servers in Europe. But not sure which fault it was, never got anywhere. Hetzner support was helpful, they claimed it was on the side of OVH. OVH never really got back to me

If the account is in your name you're responsible for payment. But you can probably sue your manager for doing that. I don't see Hetzner's fault, they'll have to assume that you opened the account if it's in your na

Me neither but it makes sense. As long as a customer is willing to pay more than electricity+bandwidth cost, why should they throw them out? In their server auction you often find old servers at price points that are really attractive. For

On the other hand it probably allows them to offer these prices. For AWS, unpaid bills from fraudulent accounts will make up a significant line item, Hetzner can't afford that at their margins.

Mainly the price, Hetzner is much cheaper. But you don't get all the other features from AWS. So if you only need EC2 and EBS you should probably use Hetzner and will save a lot of money.

Oh wow, that's really amazing. Thanks for the info! So they shipped a 40ft container full of servers via ship to the US? That really surprises me, I always thought this kind of equipment was done via air cargo only.

They'll probably buy certificates, as do most providers with these labels. As they refer to hydro power, I'm sure they haven't built their own power plants. But I don't think "small" companies have other option

They didn't build their own dc, so cost will be much higher than with their own data centers. Cloud has higher margins, I don't think they'll be able to offer dedicated servers at the same price. Maybe if cloud takes off ther

Any info on what DC they use? So far they've run everything themselves which made them slower to expand but was much cheaper to run. If they now use other DC providers it would explain why they only offer the higher margin cloud server

I'm even sure Apple would offer it if there was demand. But for the few thousands a year you can sell, it's easier to have 3rd party companies modify existing iPhones/Androids.

How is that more surveillance? Just observing identifiers you can't use to identify individuals (which is the case with contact tracing as implemented) is no surveillance. It's like counting the number of cars on a busy highway, y

Illegal behavior is no excuse not to act. Many things are done illegally, it doesn't mean they should just be legalized. Outlawing these practices will inevitably lead to a decline in its use, just not by 100%.

While I agree with most of your points, security checks are standard. Employee theft is a big issue in almost any warehouse, so searching employees after shifts is nothing unusual and doesn't tend to be a big hassle for most.

But you need to make money. Not everyone is in a position where they can afford taking unpaid time off or quit a job because it's unhealthy. It's the employers responsibility to make sure workers can handle the workload.

To be fair, w3schools and the like don't just copy content. They provide different information and, most importantly, present it differently from official docs. And for many, their way of presenting information may work better.

I like the idea. I use Go a lot but always go back to Python for quick scripting (often in Jupyter Notebooks). If it works like advertised, it could be really interesting!
