Read the top two answers (Bill Bliss, Robert Scoble), and it seems they're missing what I see as the most obvious and comprehensive answer. Bliss touches on it in passing, but not as a main theme... The real reason MS doesn't get tablets is

I go to Reddit one or more times per day when I'm not busy. When I'm busy I go a bit less than once per day. If it weren't for /r/math and a couple of other subreddits I probably wouldn't bother, but those few are hard to replace.

Watching the video made me feel a little uncomfortable. I come away with the impression that they almost , but not quite, really understood the important lessons. Still, it was well worth watching and I'm glad Huffman decided to go there.

There's a point of diminishing returns to increased income, and it's personal. I have a family, yet I took a job paying less than the previous job because it was enough money and I really wanted to work there. Later, when my wife was

Interesting, indeed. > But it's odd that someone that feels the need to write about how people should do this hasn't done it in his own project yet. I'm afraid it's not that odd at all. When I hear people talk about code reuse these d

MIT OCW is very cool, and they were front runners. What's next? Putting more course materials on the net isn't really it. What should be next is much more challenging, but has immense payoffs... something like Khan Academy is doing with p

I read that a while back also. I'm afraid you got the wrong impression. Forth is another tool, to be used when appropriate. It seems best used when you can adopt the whole Forth worldview, which goes far beyond the typical mental shifts req

Tablets are not for us, but they are for someone. I bought my wife an iPad and she loves it, not for the gee-whiz factor but because it's well suited to how she use a computer at home.

Then I'm sure you'll be back in FF soon enough. When they talked about ceasing to display the protocol, I thought surely it would just be a default and I could put it back. No such luck. I'd expect this to go the same way. It's their way or

If I give away my code I do not demand that others let me poke at what they make with it, and I don't demand that they let their users poke at it. I still have my own code. This is fine with me. Nothing, absolutely nothing that Apple does

I'm afraid the argument does work. The GPL adds many more restrictions to the recipient of code than does BSD. It's really that simple. The only restriction BSD places on the recipient is to retain the copyright and license notice. But I do

I really don't want this to be a flame war. I want a culture or sharing and learning, too. I think that culture and community are by far the most important. Since we've at a point where we largely agree, I'll take it as a good point to stop

Many of the songs on Land of Rape and Honey , for instance, either have no vocals, or the vocals are repetitive bits that seem (to me) more part of the music than typical lyrical vocals. * The Missing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gzXpz
