Hey, mine too! I actually had that, reformatted, it was fixed for a while, and it's back to doing it again. The worst part is when windows will start ignoring my request to delay updates to the weekend, and will begin restarting my com

I remember running into a few viruses floating around that (among other wonderful behaviors) disabled the ctrl+alt+del shortcut to try to prevent you from getting to the task manager. Often ctrl+shift+esc still worked, though.

To be fair, .NET has the capability to release applications with all the pieces required in a single exe. At least core does, anyways. That's a pretty big selling point for golang, as well, in my mind. Electron is the same thing in my

Mouse: toss up between Logitech g403, intellimouse 3.0 and cm spawn. Keyboard: anything ducky. Currently using a tenkeyless ducky one 2, enjoying it quite a bit.

I don't think I've ever seen that in the US. Would be useful information to know, though, for sure.

I think they're testing natively provided promise APIs with the fs module. https://github.com/nodejs/node/pull/18297 It's of course not a full promisification of every built in, but it looks like th

I _do_ want advancement to come more quickly - but I also want to have access to those benefits. Hopefully both can be achieved.

Javascript is likely to get 64 bit integers soon. It's busy making its way through TC39, anyways.

I find myself hoping it implodes sooner rather than later. Purely selfish on my part - but I would like to be able to buy a new graphics card some day. I'm already dreading the insane scramble when Nvidia announces their new cards (lik

If they are using C# (I'm making that assumption - I could be mistaken), the type system in F# isn't a huge leap in terms of learnability. It wasn't that way in my experience, anyways. The learning curve seems to be with othe

I've also done this at a medium ish scale. We had to be careful with how the uuids were generated, though. Specifically which portion of the bytes contained the timestamp (and in what order) since different databases store uuids differ

If consumers need to keep track of their own offsets, do you run into complications when trying to run multiple instances of the same consumer? Or do you typically run single processes when consuming a specific topic?

I liked previews more when they didn't spoil the entire movie. Movie theaters are okay for louder movies. I regret watching a quiet place in a theater. The loud audience did their best to ruin the experience.

It could free up time for other more enjoyable activities, though. For instance, I could spend my time playing my drums instead of mowing the lawn, if a robot did it for me.

I find them to be at least somewhat useful in a language like javascript. I imagine they are more useful in a typed language with proper inference, but I wouldn't say they're entirely useless in a dynamic language.

True. Hard to believe that was already 5 years ago, but I think you're right. I was pretty furious at the time. I also seem to remember that ESEA got hit with _super_ heavy fines for way more than they ended up earning in bitcoin. Prob
