Just added and deployed docs above the fold on home screen. Thank you! - Whoops - we forgot to update that - we added it to cloud a few weeks ago. Updated our docs - thanks! - Hm - good question! I think there's currently no limit, but

Hi HN! I'm one of the creators of Retool, and we're excited (and very nervous again) to be posting this on HN. We first showed Retool to HN around a year ago ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14515494 ). When w

I have always wondered why the subways in London, NYC, and Paris have no cell signal in the tunnels. Subways in many large Asian cities (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo) have signal in most tunnels. From the article, it sounds like it

Interesting! I think that’s why we used the Myo - if you wear it under a jacket, you can input (flex your forearm), and receive output (vibrations), while still staying totally discreet.

One time at a hackathon a few friends and I tried to game roulette. We got decently far in around 18h. We used a Myo, which you could wear on your forearm. Every time the ball went past a specific number (00, say), you would flex your arm.

We use Brex for this! They're YC W17, and do credit cards for startups. You should email them at pedro@brex.com!

We cost thousands of $ / month. If you had a problem that you'd pay thousands to have solved, it's probably worth you talking on the phone for 20 minutes. So it's a good filter for us, for now. Once we bring the price po

Then you're probably not the right customer for us! Do you have problems with internal tooling that you'd pay thousands of $ / month to have solved? For now, that's who we're looking for. And a "request a demo&

I think the non-obvious difference here is bottoms-up vs top-down adoption. If you're going bottoms-up, your deal size is smaller, and you want people to start using you by themselves. Think consumer startups like Uber, Airbnb, and ent

Fast. We use connect directly to your SQL database (mongo coming soon) so that's the perf bottleneck. Currently no query timeout -- if you host it yourself, the server is also async, so timeouts won't be an issue. Caching behind t

Thanks for the comments! I think editing by code is definitely better when you have 40 separate branches. What if your datasource (e.g. postgres instance) was a variable, and you could change this for each branch? Perhaps forking would also

That will be the case with our on-prem version. The backend is open sourced, so you can audit the code yourself. You still use our frontend, but you can be sure we won’t be stealing your data, since you can just open DevTools and see whethe

Hmm. The problem we have (and presumably one Notion has, as well) is to somehow show off all our widgets, without it being overwhelming. We previously had them hidden in a submenu under "add widget", but we found that the few peop

Ha – I do use Notion a lot, and really love their design. Much of our design is definitely inspired by them – the widget picker, for example.
