I would recommend Plogue's OPS7, they have put considerable amounts of time and effort into reverse engineering the original chips. The interface is a little clunky but it sounds fantastic. https://www.plogue.com/produc

I grew up and lived with urxvt and xterm for the longest time. I switched to Kitty full time, and I do not regret it. I wish Alacritty had better scrollback, I'd give that a go as well. But for now, I am sticking to Kitty.
