So did I, when I lived in the Bay Area and actually had a choice. In my corner of Seattle, my only choices are Comcast and CenturyLink, which appear to be equally despised by people.

A year or two ago, on a weekend, I wrote some XSLT to transform old-school Pages'08 documents to html. But I don't make a habit of working with XSLT.

It looks like Facebook asks for Location: Always on iOS. (I've got mine set to Never.) I wonder if they feed this back to the servers. I presume you didn't post anything about the "event" to facebook (I've seen &qu

I have the same problem with my iMac (the last couple of revisions of MacOS seem to be unusable on hard disk), but it's bit more difficult to swap in an SSD on the iMac.

Something like "bubbles" tends to be popular with the younger kids. My kid also was a big fan of "Petting Zoo" (by fox and sheep GMBH) around that time. (It was briefly free in the app store - it's somewhat abstrac

Using $ and $$ is most legible for me. Having spent many years using TeX. Pandoc seems to do the same thing - I suspect for the same reasons. I usually patch this into markdown systems that I use. This is especially useful when you have ha

YMMV, but OneNote makes me nervous. I briefly played with it on OSX, and didn't see a good way to get notes out of it (e.g. for backup, recovery/usage in absence of OneNote). That is one thing that Evernote gets right IMO - the

Apple has also been using bsdiff for incremental app updates (on device). I discovered bsdiff while poking around in one of their update files.

I've been using vi for over 20 years, but not a power user or anything (emacs for code, vi for quick edits), and have no idea how to use it without esc. Did vim change something? How do you switch modes?

Yeah, we do something similar, although we send a much smaller amount of email than MailChimp. Our admin runs about 10% of the outgoing mail through our DR site to keep google et al trained to accept emails from those IPs.

FoldingText.app on OSX and "usecanvas.com" on the web work similarly. I really like that editing model for markdown. (Hiding all the markup except that which is surrounding or adjacent to the cursor.) I'd love to see someone

It's a little worse than that. The "file" column of the database is a binary plist encrypted with AES128-CBC using the first 16 bytes of SHA1(password||salt) as a key and 0,1,2,...,15 as a salt. So those columns could be use
