I also wouldn't expect "undefined" to be consistent within a single compiler implementation. The optimizer is free to make different instances behave differently.

Yeah, the tiff bug was one of the the first few iOS jailbreaks. The wiki says 1.0-1.1.1: https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/LibTiff_Exploit I wrote a patch to fix it that one of the jailbreaks used. I wasn't in th

I think the barrier would be loss of access to friends and family. Especially group chats. From inertia, conversations would continue on iMessage without the person who switched. I would like to see iMessage on other platforms, but I don&#

It was a FedEx driver for us. Eventually they moved on to another route or job, but the guy was throwing packages up over a fence onto the porch and kept breaking things. And DHL doesn't bother walking up to the porch, just leaves thin

I would add pattern matching. I've found this really helpful for manipulating ASTs by matching multiple levels of the tree and pulling out values simultaneously.

Essentially a constraint that is true about the variables, which helps you reason about the code. A good example is: // Invariant: x[i-1] < target, x[j] >= target. In the golang implementation of binary search: https:/

I did this for a while (with a different algorithm for picking the password off of the table). It gets inconvenient when a site makes you change your password.

Yeah, last I checked, encrypted itunes backups would keep the "this device only" keychain data. Which would only work when restored to the same device - it needs the UID key from the secure enclave to decode. (I wrote code a few

I did IT support for the CS department at university back in the 90's, and we had a professor who would email us once or twice a year asking us replace his monitor because it had gotten blurry. We'd go in, wipe the thick layer of
