I have given up too - people are complaining to me (via WhatsApp since it just works) because I recommended Signal and they signed up. Now I'm the guy whose recommendations are probably going to be ignored. Signal just isn't suita

No, it's a negative sign since half of the ~dozen people I got over to Signal are complaining and will probably go back to WA since Signal is still down after almost a whole day. The other half will probably go back if this takes much

Imo, good REPL integration is the thing to take from Lisp, not necessarily the syntax (although I'm a fan of it). See CL with SLIME.

Message delivery is quite unreliable sometimes, it's a bloated electron app, search doesn't really work for me, it has no message forwarding, etc. Video calls don't work at all, I just tried it a couple of minutes ago. It

Yep, it's not like Signal is eager to include features. They have shown that again and again.

One mention of Threema along with WhatsApp. Not mentioned is how they obtained the messages, as far as I can see.

It has a web client. And yes, that's a massive disadvantage for me. I don't want to chat, share files, and make (video) calls exclusively via my phone.

I can only tell you what I have heard from many people myself: 4€ for a chat app is not on.

It's sad that Signal has a horrible Desktop Client and isn't much to look at because the security and privacy features are good, if you disregard the forced cell phone number.

Kettlebells are the perfect solution for this, in my opinion. It's insane how much exercise I get out of them in a short amount of time.

In my contact circle many people have academic degrees or work in tech jobs and only about 1 out of 10 people would consider switching. I have asked, they just don't care to "have 5 different chat apps installed", when they c

I use Element (Matrix) on Ubuntu, Windows 10, and Android. It works great so far, with a few exceptions such as sharing videos from reddit, for example.
